Adventurous couples might find this destination interesting – it is certainly gorgeous!
Uncharted Africa’s most romantic and secluded safari camp, San Camp on the edge of the ethereal Makgadikgadi Salt Pans has now reopened for the season, April 15-October 15, and with the strength of the US dollar over the Botswana pula it is no wonder Botswana is on Lonely Planet’s top country for 2016.
San Camp is located in a reef of palm trees on the edge of Botswana ’s Makgadikdagi Salt Pans (where Taylor Swift filmed her ‘Wildest Dreams’ video). The nothingness stretches as far as the eye can see and is a place so remote and quiet that one can actually see the curve of the earth and hear the blood circulate through their ears. San Camp is the only property located on the edge of Botswana ’s Makgadikdagi Salt Pans, an otherworldly ancient lake bed where the curve of the earth becomes apparent; truly a place to be alone together… along with the meerkats and grazing wildebeest.
The Camp houses just seven intimate guest suites, each one a spacious, airy and luxurious flowing white tent incorporating a private veranda looking out at the edge of the world. The camp is a truly romantic escape with large, flowing, white tents designed specifically to invite the magnificent environment in, while the interiors are designed with ultimate style and comfort with traditional dark wood furniture in old world safari fashion.
